Issue 2 has come and gone, but we still aren’t over our last launch party at Flywheel Brewing. Flywheel hosted over 150 Hardin County locals as we rang in the New Year, albeit a bit late, and celebrated the release of Elizabethtown Lifestyle Magazine Issue 2. Read on to learn more about the event!
The party was inspired by artwork from local artist Courtney Ballard of HIP South. The event featured a colorful array of florals including, tinted babies breath and dried / painted palm leaves plus my personal faves: peonies and anthuriums. Flywheel specializes in craft beer, but guests also had the option of purchasing mixed drinks and wine. With any launch party, attendees walk away with a new magazine hot off the press. We also had our signature swag bags for the first 50 guests filled with goods from local businesses and Elizabethtown Lifestyle pint glasses. Our colorful donut bar by Amazin’ Glazin’ Donuts may have stolen the show. Popular flavors included Glazed Captain Crunch, Cream Cheese Danish and Blush Icing + Sprinkles.
With a background in events, bringing people together for any occasion has always meant so much to me. Launch parties are near and dear to my heart and quite possibly one of my favorite parts of the magazine. If you missed our first two launch parties, don’t worry. We will get back to hosting quarterly events as soon as gatherings are deemed safe. I am so excited for Issue 3, but so sad that we are missing out on an opportunity to be people in Hardin County together. In addition, we are hoping to plan some local charity events in late 2020 / 2021. The only thing better than a party is a party that gives back to the community.
Venue: Flywheel Brewing I Art: Courtney Ballard, HIP South
Linens & Rentals: Emerald Oak Events I Event & Floral Design: Giselle Smith
Event Coorindation: Kendall Ratchford I Donuts: Amazin’ Glazin’ Donuts
IF YOU MADE IT OUT FOR THE PARTY, I APPRECIATE YOU. We are grateful for each guest who made it despite the cold and rain; the event took place on one of the rainiest Saturday evenings of 2020 to date. We couldn’t have made it happen without all of our event sponsors: Courtney Ballard at HIP South with artwork for our giveaway and the coolest photo backdrop (shown above), our venue and local craft beer geniuses Flywheel Brewing, Amazin’ Glazin’ Donuts, Emerald Oak Events and Kendall Ratchford for keeping the party on track with help from Kala Booth. In addition, I would like to thank my husband Aleks; Doctor Smith may specialize in throat surgeries, but he can design a flower arrangement and install with the best of them.
Haven't made it to a launch party yet? The Issue 3 Launch Party is postponed for now and the Issue 4 is up in the air, but you can expect a grand anniversary party this October. So cute! I wish I could’ve been there to see the tented babies breath! Also, those donuts looked delicious. Can’t wait to get my hands on ISSUE 2!
